Pukara Estate was founded by Bruce Eglington, who planted the first trees in 1999 and was joined 12 months later by Steve Goodchild. The first olive trees were planted on the 200-acre property located near the town of Denman in the Upper Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The first commercial harvest took place in 2003 and the Pukara Estate brand was launched. The grove consists of approximately 20,000 mature trees and production is mainly sourced from varieties such as the Italian favourites, Frantoio, Leccino, Corregiola and Coratina, alongside the reliable Spanish varietal influence of Hoji Blanca, Picual and Arbequina. Steve and Racquel Goodchild now manage Pukara Estate’s operations across the country with an ever increasing range of products and distribution.
